Connecting Facebook and Instagram
How a business connects its Facebook Page and Instagram account to Nolmo, what Nolmo does with the messages, and how to disconnect. Messenger and Instagram are in a closed pilot right now.

What you need
- A Facebook Page for your business, and a Facebook account with the admin role on that Page.
- For Instagram: an Instagram professional account (business or creator) linked to that Page.
- An admin account in Nolmo.
Connecting
- In Nolmo, open Settings → Channels and choose Connect Facebook and Instagram.
- Log in with your Facebook account. Nolmo never sees your password; the login happens on Facebook.
- Choose the Page you want to connect, and the Instagram account linked to it.
- Review the permissions Nolmo asks for (listed below) and confirm.
- Back in Nolmo, choose which team the conversations should go to. New messages arrive within seconds.
The permissions Nolmo asks for, and why
- Read and reply to Page messages (Messenger), so conversations with your Page appear in Nolmo and your team can answer from there.
- Read and reply to Instagram direct messages, for the same reason.
- Read and reply to comments on your Page's posts, so a customer question left as a comment becomes a case and can be answered.
- Basic Page and account details (name, picture, identifiers), to show which Page a conversation belongs to and keep the connection working.
Nolmo does not ask for permission to post on your behalf, read your ads, or access your personal profile.
What Nolmo does with the messages
- Each message or comment becomes a case in your inbox, with the sender's name and profile picture, alongside conversations from your other channels.
- The AI classifies the case, pulls in any context you have connected (such as an order), and writes a draft reply that only your team can see.
- Your team replies from Nolmo; the reply is sent through Meta to the person on Messenger or Instagram. Nothing is sent unless a team member sends it, or you have explicitly turned on automatic replies for a case type.
- Messages are stored in your tenant only, for as long as your retention settings say. They are never shared with other Nolmo customers, sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Disconnecting
In Nolmo, open Settings → Channels and choose Disconnect next to the Page or account. You can also remove Nolmo under Apps and websites in your Facebook settings. Either way, Nolmo stops receiving messages at once, the access token is revoked, and data from that connection is deleted within 30 days unless you ask to keep the case history. See data deletion.
